Monday Morning

Monday morning is great. I don't know why it gets such a bad rap. Monday's provide a fresh perspective on a new week. By Thursday and Friday the week is getting old and my patience is often wearing a little thin. On Monday my energy is recharged from a weekend of relative "rest", and I'm ready to launch into the week ahead.

This is what I like to do on Mondays.
-plan a week or two of menus
-make a grocery list from my plan
-look at my week's calendar and plan for events (nothing is easy if it requires loading up two kids into the van by myself)
-schedule certain days for different chores (eg. laundry on Tuesday)
-make a point to have time with the Lord to get the week off to a good start

What about you? Do you like or hate Mondays?

Good Morning, Boo! I like to read my wife's blog on Mondays-- it cheers me up.

Nope, not a Monday fan at all!
On Mondays I am catching up on the laundry and house work that was neglected over the weekend.

I like to read my nieces' blogs on Mon. or anyother day for that matter. Today, I noticed from comments on blogs that both my nephew-in-law and my nephew are still alive. Val, you sound so organinzied - some of the rest of us just aren't that organized. A. Jean in Wpg.

Mondays are especially challenging as I always have a huge pile of dishes as well as a house all a mess! The more we rest on our day of rest, the messier the house is. So I am always trying to juggle starting the school week as well as get this big mess under control. It's hard to do housework and schoolwork at the same time! The two don't mix well for me.

Usually, I am organized and ready to go on Mondays. It is often a day for errands, or calls for appointments. My house is usually organized and so I really like Mondays. However, today! It was terrible. I had left Sunday's dishes, several unfinished projects and a promised meal to someone for supper. I had been invited out to lunch, but that was cancelled, so I did get a couple of errands in that I wasn't sure I could do today. The plow went by while I was at the store, so beside shoveling the ramp and cleaning the car this morning, I had to move the nasty pile of stiff snow from by the street so the handi-van can get Dad out in just a little while. I am not complaining, I am glad I have strength and am also grateful for at least 3 neighbors and a brother-in-law who snow- blew our walks and driveway through this snow. The Lord takes really good care of us.
Everyone enjoy the rest of the Monday you have even if it didn't get off on the best foot. Mom

Well, I hope I didn't give the impression that I have it all together!! No way! I have many mornings that I feel about three days and a load of dishes behind. :) But whether I'm behind or caught up- I still like Mondays... :)

For me, Mondays always come with a 5 o'clock wake up call... which is something I don't enjoy cause it reminds me that Tuesday and Wednesday are going to be the same!
