This past weekend Dennis and I found ourselves with only one baby and free time! It has been a long time since we've had a chance to do something fun for a whole day together. We had planned to visit the Petroglyphs, but when we arrived at the entrance we found a sign that said, "Park closed for the season, will reopen the second Friday in May." Not to be discouraged, we meandered on up the road to a provincial conservation area near Apsley called "The Gut." This is a beautiful place off the beaten path where a rushing river has cut a gorge through the rock. There is a beautiful waterfall there. We saw a garter snake on the path and quickly got a picture.
After visiting the gorge we went on up to Bancroft to pick up the older girls from Grampa and Gramma's. On the way home from there we saw a moose chewing on a sapling right beside the road! He didn't act too interested that he had attracted several cars and picture takers.

I am so glad that you had such a fun time. Is the animal pictured in the lower middle a horse or a moose? It looked more like a horse to me. Your folks, Dennis, are so great and kind to help take care of your girls. I wish I could help as well. We love you, Mom and Dad
you're looking good,Valerie :)

I am wondering if the writer of the "Take a Whiff" blog is able to send some lovely springtime fragrance abroad? Mom
P.S. We still have an open border with Canada.
