Father's Day, part one

Saturday morning Squeaky and I "sneaked" out to do something special for Daddy. A store here in town had set up a place for kids to paint a t-shirt for their dads. We had fun doing it together. Look closely at the shirt! She wanted to put "little guys" on it. She drew them, I just pinched the paint tube as she did it so that the paint would come out. I wrote the names though, after she told me she wanted letters on it. "I want the letters A-E-and L on it," she said.

On the way to the store I told her that we were going to keep it a surprise for Daddy. And on the way home I decided the best thing would be to not talk about it at all so that it wouldn't be the first thing on her mind when she saw Daddy. We managed to get through the whole day on Saturday with only "...a shirt at the store..." slipping out.

Here is the current artwork. She's improving! Just the other day she drew a picture of a little guy that included pockets and a line up the front where the shirt buttons. So cute- sorry if I'm tooting my own horn here...

Good job, Squeaky and Mommy. Ask Daddy to model that beautiful shirt. I bet it will look super on him.

Squeaky, you are very talented and creative. I am sure that Daddy will be proud to wear his new Father's Day shirt. Well, how many days is it until you come to Nebraska? We'll have to ask A. Jean for the count. Have a good week. Love, Gr. and Gr.
