Been Thinking...

Our classes and orientation to the second year of training began this week. In the three days so far I've already been stretched past where I feel comfortable, so I think that is indicative of a good year ahead.

There was a time when change and unexpected things really irritated me. It almost goes without saying that an individual who is planning to enter a cross-cultural situation will undoubtly go through some change and unexpected circumstances. So it is a good thing that God has been working on this area in my life! I've seen the importance of going into situations with my eyes wide open to see what He is doing, rather than closing down and wishing for things to be some other way.

One thing that has been emphasized in class this week is the idea of being comfortable with "becoming" rather than wanting the end result right now. It is more comfortable to be at the end looking back, but we rarely are given that perspective in life. In a spiritual sense, we are talking about sanctification. We want to be spiritually mature, but there is never a point where we can say we've arrived or know it all. Every day is another opportunity to grow. Even those days when everything seems to be a little off. I want to enjoy the process and walk with the Lord each moment.
So here we go back into classes- equipped with the knowledge that this is what God has for us today. Bring it on!

Love it. You're right. I am often thinking "I haven't arrived. I don't have it down." Implying that I think that time will come. But it won't this side of eternity. Better to be comfy just being "in process." Love you!

Wow, what great thoughts. I think I'd be feeling a little stretch too, but it's wonderful to think about how God continues to work in and through us.
