You Nebraskians are too quick to post the answers - now my guesses would be educated. I would have had the one about the unique gov. right but would have expressed it in common language "One house" istead of two houses. I am a little surprised about the corp being corn...I thought Iowa would be ahead of NE my guess would have been wheat although I imagine that there are several midwest states that claim wheat. My education along these important subjects is rather antiquated....more than 45 years. Thanks for keeping our interest held to read your blog frequently. A. Jean n Wpg.

Ok, I've deleted my answers so that someone else can have a shot at it first if they'd like. I was just guessing though, A. Jean, so feel free to give it a whirl yourself now that my answers aren't there to cloud the view!

I don't think there is much danger of Ron being correct... :) I'm pretty sure he was just trying to be funny, so guess away the rest of you!

1. “Beautiful Nebraska, peaceful prairie land, laced with many rivers and the hills of sand” (remembered from the days of 4-H)

2. I would say corn but for some reason I’m thinking it’s actually soy beans.

3. You’ll never believe it, but it is the Tiger Beetle - although the only tigers in Nebraska are at the Henry Doorly Zoo.

4. Motto: Equality Before the Law / Slogan: The Good Life (except in the winter)

5. Douglas County (home to Omaha, our largest city)

6. We have a unicameral (one-house) legislature (this doesn’t mean we any less bipartisan then the next state)

7. I'd have to say, "Not a single thing."

Val, do you have the correct answers or will we have to google all the answers?

I actually don't have the correct answers, KT. Maybe Matt does? He's the one who came up with it in the first place. So perhaps he'll indulge us sometime and post the correct ones. Funny how our minds still think alike, my original answer to #7 was quite similar! LOLOLOL

Ron, I think your answers are funny. Not offended at all. I'm no Mary Jane.
